New construction codes introduced in many coastal states in recent years require increased levels of protection against hurricanes for people and their assets. The Florida building code was the first in March of 2002, and a number of other States have subsequently adopted these standards.
In these areas, window products must be capable of resisting winds of 240 km/h.
The new code recommends the use of approved hurricane-resistant sashes or certified windows and doors.
The Jazz / Impact Sliding Door quickly became the standard in terms of hurricane protection. It provides MAXIMUM PROTECTION against wind and debris associated with wind.
Approved as impact-resistant, the Jazz / Impact Sliding Door uses “Cardinal Sea Storm” hurricane glass. The protection is unparalleled. “Sea Storm” is reinforced with a 2.3 mm thick layer of PVB between the two panes.
